The Florida community is mourning the death of Saul Consuelos, a proud U.S. Navy veteran and devoted father, whose passing was recently shared by his son, actor and television host Mark Consuelos.
Saul passed away two weeks prior to the announcement made on Live with Kelly and Mark, though specific details regarding his age and cause of death have not been publicly disclosed. His life, however, was defined by service, discipline, and a deep love for his family and country.
Originally from Mexico, Saul immigrated to the United States as a teenager and went on to serve in the U.S. Navy for 30 years, eventually working with Special Operations Command in Tampa. Along the way, he pursued education relentlessly, earning his Master’s degree while raising his family. His journey stood as a powerful example of dedication and opportunity, something his son described as the very embodiment of the American promise.
Mark Consuelos reflected on his father’s character and intellect, recalling how he approached life with both seriousness and humor. He shared, “If you asked him what time it was, he would tell you how to build a watch,” a line that perfectly captures both his depth of knowledge and his teaching nature. Much of what Mark carries today, from practical skills to values, was shaped simply by watching his father.
His daughter-in-law, Kelly Ripa, also paid tribute, calling Saul “the greatest person I’ve ever known,” and expressing how deeply his absence will be felt across their family. She noted that his grandchildren were fortunate to grow up knowing him closely, forming bonds and memories that will stay with them for life.
Saul Consuelos’ obituary reflects a life built on service, resilience, and legacy, the kind that doesn’t just influence one family, but echoes through generations.
